Picts Hill Studios was set up by 4 individual artists, three ceramic artists and a metal work sculptor.  Their aim was to create a safe place for collaboration and exploration of their creative processes.  The environment at Picts Hill, with its open countryside and peaceful setting, has made it a beautiful place to share these new ideas and processes.  Found, natural materials are in abundance and these are used regularly by the ceramic artists both in the making and firing methods adopted.  Not only are Picts Hill Studios a place for the artists to share ideas but also to embark on joint projects to incorporate multi discipline making methods for a common goal.  In the future it is an aspiration of the resident artists to foster links with other local artists to be able to broaden the diversity of medias and cross discipline collaborations.
